| 内容記述 | 本稿ではある種の小動物を表すマミという俚言の地理的分布とアクセント範疇を究明する。このマミという俚言は本州東部のほぼ全域と，西日本では中国地方の西部に分布している。だが，北海道を除いた日本全土にあるマミアナという地名，あるいは狸・貒の字をマミと読ませる地名をほぼ網羅的に収集・列挙した結果，その分布からマミという俚言はかつて四国のやや広域でも使われていたことが読みとれる。これを裏付けるかのように，高知県の山岳地域では二十世紀中葉まで俚言としてマミがまだ使われていたという話者の回想がある。マミは方言によってそのアクセント型が異なるが，その分布からマミは金田一語類の1類に属するとみられる。 | |||||||||

| 内容記述 | This paper is an investigation into the distribution and accentual category of the dialect word mami 'badger' which is widely used in eastern Honshu and in parts of the Chugoku region of western Honshu. Place-name evidence points to it having been once rather widespread in Shikoku, and this paper reports evidence that the word mami was used until the mid-20th century in a mountainous region of Tosa-cho, Kochi Prefecture, probably sustained by the presence of multiple place names containing mamiana 'badger sett' in the area. Depending on the dialect, mami is initial-accented, final-accented, or unaccented, but the geographical distribution of these three accentual patterns leads to the conclusion that the word was originally a class-1 word (i.e. High-beginning unaccented) under Kindaichi's classification. | |||||||||
