| 内容記述 | 朱京偉(2011a)では,蘭学資料の三字漢語を考察し,また,在華宣教師資料の三字語との比較を朱京偉(2011b)によって行なった。本稿では,こうした先行研究を踏まえ,新たに蘭学資料の四字漢語を研究対象として選んだ。2+2型の四字漢語を前部二字語基と後部二字語基に分けて,語基の品詞性と造語力,および,結合関係と出自状況など,種々の側面から四字漢語の性格を探ろうとした。その結果,明治初期に備わっていた四字漢語の造語機能は,蘭学資料の時代においてすでに相当の発達を遂げていたことを実証した。 | |||||

| 内容記述 | In the contemporary Japanese language, four-Chinese-character words are widely used and have great vitality in word formation. But when did these word formation patterns and the various characteristics of four-Chinese-character words develop? This paper attempts to find an answer based on written documents of Dutch Studies from the latter half of the nineteenth century. Previously, the author (Zhu Jingwei, 2011a) carried out a comprehensive analysis of three-Chinese-character words in these documents. This paper shifts the focus to the four-character words in the same texts. The topics addressed include word formation patterns, the productivity of the two-character elements that combine into four-character words, the origins of these two-character elements, etc. The four-character words in Dutch Studies documents are the direct ancestors of many of the four-Chinese-character words used in contemporary Japanese, and also, as a result of communication between China and Japan, they led to many of the four-character words used in Chinese. Therefore, Japanese words of this type deserve further study. | |||||
