| 内容記述 | 上昇下降調とはピッチが上昇したのち下降する句末音調である。上昇下降調の使用場面に関して、見解の相違がある。内省と資料に基づいたまとめによれば、上昇下降調はやや改まった場で使われやすい。しかし、独話をデータとした印象評定と使用率の統計によれば、上昇下降調はくだけた発話で多用される。本研究は『日本語日常会話コーパス』のコアデータの52会話を対象に、日本語母語話者の日常会話における上昇下降調の使用率を考察し、会話の形式との関連性を探った。全体として上昇下降調の使用率は会議・会合>雑談>用談・相談であり、会話ごとの上昇下降調の使用率は平均値でも中央値でも会議・会合>用談・相談>雑談である。会議・会合は雑談より改まり度が高いと言える。雑談より会議・会合において上昇下降調の使用率が高いため、くだけた会話ほど上昇下降調が多用されるとは言えないと主張する。 | |||||||||

| 内容記述 | Rising-falling intonation is a common kind of phrase-final intonation in Japanese, which means that the pitch first rises and then falls in the final mora of a phrase. Although some researchers think that rising-falling intonation is frequently used in slightly formal communication, the results of corpus studies show that it is more frequently used in casual monologue. Using 52 conversations in the Core data of Corpus of Everyday Japanese Conversation (CEJC), this study attempts to investigate the relationship between rising-falling intonation and level of formality. The results show that the usage rate of rising-falling intonation is 9.5% in meeting, 8.1% in chat, and 7.6% in consultation/business talks. Since meeting can be considered to be the most formal among these three kinds of forms, this study draws a conclusion that it cannot be necessarily said that rising-falling intonation is more usual in casual conversation. | |||||||||
