The paper further argues that the accentual systems of all these dialects show the following features: (a) A boundary between consecutive particles is marked with an inserted accent. (b) When two or more adjacent H tones occur in an accentual phrase, all of the H tones except for the leftmost are changed to L (HH→HL), due to dissimilation.
