The learners are Korean, Chinese, and English L1 speakers who havestudied Japanese in their own countries.\nThere are three main results found: 1) the development of \"kara\" is the same for foreign and second language learners; 2) even though \"kara\" and \"node\" are grammatically different, however they follow the same developmental process; and 3) although \"kara\" and \"node\" follow the same developmental process, the stage of development and the speed of development are different, and misuse is less likely to occur in the use of \"node\" than \"kara\".
