In the first half of this paper, the results of an analysis of the verbs of the zoku-suru group based upon the texts of Kokkai Kaigiroku, the minutes of the National Diet of Japan, are described. It was found that, using the Kokkai Kaigiroku data, we may observe the way the morphological change of the zoku-suru group proceeded during the past sixty years. We were also enabled to make the author's previous synchronic analysis of the zoku-suru verbs more precise and make a three-way, rather than two-way, distinction among the verbs of the zoku-suru group according to the degree of morphological change. In addition, the results of an analysis of the verbs belonging to the sin-zuru group are also discussed briefly. In the second half of this paper, the morphological changes of the zoku-suru group are analyzed using a huge Web corpus, which was created by the author recently.
