When we investigate how degree verbs and subject-changing verbs co-occur, we see that what types of verbs co-occur and how degree adverbs qualify them vary in great measure according to the type of degree adverbs. Degree adverbs can be classified into three types, daibu type, hijoni type and zutto type. On the one hand, degree adverbs of daibu type co-occur with subjectchanging verbs if the subject-changing advances gradually. On the other, those of hijoni type and zutto type co-occur with subject-changing verbs when the subject-changing advances gradually and resultant state can be changed more. As to how degree adverbs qualify subject-changing adverbs, daibu type adverbs denote how much it has changed and how the resultant state has become. However, zutto type adverbs signify only the former of the two. Hijoni type adverbs signify only the latter of the two. This is why degree adverbs vary in which aspectual phase they qualify, whether they qualify the phase of changing process or that of resultant state. Semantic function of degree adverbs when co-occurring with subject-changing verbs can be deduced from their usage when co-occurring with stative predicate. The above-mentioned classification of degree adverbs corresponds to the classification in the light of whether the degree adverbs can appear in comparative constructions., application/pdf}, pages = {7--22}, title = {程度副詞と主体変化動詞との共起}, volume = {3}, year = {1998}, yomi = {サノ, ユキコ} }
