| 内容記述 | 本稿は、日系移民に関する音声資料の整備に関わる実務経験から、課題と意義を検討する。特に、概要作成作業に焦点を当て、その過程で不可避となる情報の取捨選択や作成者の背景知の影響について論じる。音声資料のアーカイブ化は、インタビュー生成、寄贈、整理、公開、利用といった複数の時間的段階から成り、それぞれに異なる主体と空間が関与する。これらの過程を整理し、資料の背景情報欠落の問題と付属資料の重要性、公開をめぐる公益性と危険性が時間的に変化する可能性について明らかにする。また、概要は利用者の資料選択を方向づける重要な役割を持つが、作成に際し様々な困難があることを指摘する。例として、概要作成者になじみのない背景知、インタビューにおける非言語コミュニケーションを概要に反映することの困難性、差別語と認識される言葉の問題について論じる。その上で、アーカイブ化された音声資料の研究利用では、語りの内容のみならず、その生成過程や背景、インタビュアーの関与を含めた分析が重要であることを論じる。以上より、概要作成は単なる技術的作業ではなく、資料の意味づけと利用可能性を規定する知的実践であると位置づける。 | |||||||||

| 内容記述 | This paper examines the challenges and significance of organizing audio materials related to Japanese immigrants, based on the author’s practical experience in archival work. It focuses in particular on the process of writing synopses, and discusses the inevitable selection of information and the influence of the background knowledge of those who create synopses. The archiving of audio materials consists of multiple temporal stages, including the generation of interviews, donation, organization, public access, and use, each involving different actors and settings. By examining these processes, the paper clarifies the problem of the loss of contextual information, the importance of supplementary materials, and the possibility that the balance between public benefit and potential risk in making materials accessible may change over time. Furthermore, while synopses play a crucial role in guiding users’ selection of materials, the paper points out various difficulties involved in their creation. These include the creators’ unfamiliarity with certain contextual knowledge, the difficulty of reflecting non-verbal communication in synopses, and the problem of handling language that may be recognized as discriminatory. In addition, when using archived audio materials for research, it is essential to analyze not only the content of the narratives but also the relational and contextual dynamics of their production, including their background and the role of the interviewer. In conclusion, the paper argues that writing synopses is not merely a technical task, but an intellectual practice that shapes the interpretation and accessibility of materials. | |||||||||
