 note = {言語ないし言語行動について言及する言語表現としてのメタ言語表現は，その内容や形式において広範な広がりをもつ。この中で，表現主体がいま行おうとする（ないし，いま行ったばかりの）言語行動について，その言語行動としての種類や機能を明示的に表現するメタ表現も日常的にしばしば観察される。
当面の資料として専門雑誌所載の専門的な文章を対象にこの種のメタ表現の現われ方を記述・検討したところ，次の諸点でいくつかの特徴が指摘された。
①用いられる動詞（句）と，その修飾要素の種類
②言語行動のどの側面に言及するかという言及内容の種類
③文章中でメタ表現の出現する位置
④言及の姿勢（肯定的か，否定的かなど）
⑤そのメタ表現を行った理由の明示的な表示の有無, In everyday Japanese, both spoken and written, we can observe a great many types of metalingual expressions which refer to language or linguistic behaviour. Among them, metalingual expressions which refer to the types and functions of linguistic behaviour form one of the most frequent groups of metalingual expressions.
In this article, we made a descriptive survey of these types of metalingual expressions collecting examples in special articles or professional essays. Several characteristics of the expressions could be pointed out on the following aspects ： 
① Variety of the types of verbs (or verb phrases) and their modifiers
② Variety of the elements of linguistic behaviour referred to
③ Position of the occurrence of these expressions in the texts
④ Modality of the subject (positive or negative)
