 note = {This is a report of the use of written forms in cultural reviews. We surveyed about 117,000 running words, drawn from the sample used for the above-mentioned word count. The contents of the report are as follows:
(1) A list of some 700 words which occurred frequently in two or more variant ways of writing.
(2) A table of the frequency distribution of Chinese characters.
(3) A frequency table of 1,417 Chinese characters classified by their on and kun reading.
(4) A frequency table of 88 Chinese characters not occurring in the List of the Tôyô Kanzi (the Daily-use Chinese Characters) noted in our sample with all their uses.
(5) An index to the Daily-use Chinese Characters.
